Welcome to The AreitoTaino Group
Where diverse voices take center stage.
We are a nonprofit performing arts community built by artists, for artists—and for everyone who believes the arts should be accessible, inclusive, and transformative. Born from the vision of three Latina founders and rooted in New York’s rich cultural landscape, AreitoTaino creates equitable pathways to training, mentorship, and performance. Whether you’re an emerging artist, an educator, or a curious audience member, you belong here. Dream it, build it, and grow it with us—because great art isn’t for the few. It’s for all.
Our Programs
Whether you are discovering your voice for the first time or are a working artist seeking to protect your creative rights, ATG is your home. Our programs are more than just classes; they are incubators for civic pride, mentorship, and original storytelling. We don’t just teach art—we help you write your own story.
Summer Youth Playwrights Program
The Summer Youth Playwrights Program is an eight-week creative writing and theater program designed to introduce young adults to the art and craft of playwriting through an inclusive, hands-on learning experience.
Where Passion Meets Practice
At AreitoTaino, we turn vision into action. From page to stage and contract to curtain, our programs are designed to meet artists where they are—and help them grow. This summer, young writers can find their voice in our Summer Youth Playwriting Program, a deep dive into storytelling, structure, and self-expression. For working artists navigating the business of creativity, our Copyright & Entertainment Legal Clinics Workshop for Artists offers crucial guidance on protecting your work and your future. These are just the beginning. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned creator, there’s a place for you here.
Copyright & Entertainment Legal Clinics Workshop for Artists
A free 3-hour (one-day) practical legal clinic designed for artists to understand the fundamental elements of copyright & entertainment law to help artists protect their creative rights.
Announcing New Programs
The AreitoTaino Group has launched the AreitoTaino Play Developmental Series, which takes original plays from first draft to full production (beginning with “Ice Factory”), and the Writers Collaborative Network, a bi-monthly workshop starting Spring 2027.
From Our Community
As someone in the performing arts, I know firsthand how transformative access to creative opportunities can be. Their mission to both empower underserved youth through storytelling as well as to remove barriers to artistic participation aligns completely with what I believe in, and this is why I support The AreitoTaino Group.
Investing in the next generation of artists and storytellers from diverse backgrounds is not only necessary, it is essential.
David Lee
Donor
Directing the AreitoTaino co-production of ‘Ice Factory’ was an incredible experience. They created an environment where artistic risk-taking was celebrated, and diverse and authentic voices were amplified.
What sets AreitoTaino apart is their genuine commitment to the vision and the artists. They’re not just producing plays—they’re nurturing talent and building a community.
This is what our industry needs.
Joseph Cobb
Director, "Ice Factory" Stage Reading
I attended an AreitoTaino production and left deeply moved. They bring voices and perspectives rarely seen on stage, with such artistry and heart.
The stories they tell are powerful and real. It’s the kind of theater that makes you think and feel long after you leave.
I’m now a regular supporter because I believe in what they’re building.

Your Support Keeps the Arts Accessible for All
At AreitoTaino, we believe that a young playwright’s first script, an immigrant actor’s contract, or a teenager’s moment on stage should never depend on their zip code or bank account. Every program we offer—from our Summer Youth Playwriting Program to our free Legal Clinics for Artists—is designed to remove barriers, not create new ones.
But we can’t do it alone. Your donation, no matter the size, helps us keep workshops affordable, pay our teaching artists fairly, and reach the diverse voices that make New York’s arts scene extraordinary. When you give to AreitoTaino, you aren’t just writing a check. You are funding a first rehearsal, a copyright registration, a standing ovation. You are proving that art truly is for everyone.
